According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the wreck was reported around 10:22 a.m. on May 4 at Big Bear Boulevard and Cienega Road.

Big Bear Lake, CA – Two people died, and one other was critically hurt in a suspected DUI collision that happened Monday morning at an intersection in Big Bear Lake.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the wreck was reported around 10:22 a.m. on May 4 at Big Bear Boulevard and Cienega Road.
Authorities reported that 52-year-old Matthew Clark of Oxnard was driving a white Ford Super Duty pickup truck southbound on Cienega Road, approaching the stop sign at Big Bear Boulevard.
At the same time, a Big Bear Lake woman was driving a red Subaru Crosstrek westbound on Big Bear Boulevard toward the intersection.
Authorities said Clark failed to stop at the stop sign and proceeded to enter the intersection. His Ford struck the passenger side of the Subaru.
Emergency personnel responded and pronounced one passenger in the Subaru dead at the scene.
Another passenger in the Subaru was airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, where she was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the Subaru was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center with major injuries.
Clark was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. He was later arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. He was being held on a $250,000 bail.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
