Rancho Penasquitos, California (December 10, 2022) – Authorities are investigating a Friday evening Rancho Penasquitos bicycle accident that left a 63-year-old man seriously injured in San Diego.

The major injury accident happened at about 5:30 p.m., on December 9, in the 10000 block of Carmel Mountain Road.

According to the police, the 63-year-old man was cycling northbound on the roadway when a 93-year-old man driving a Honda Fit veered to the right and crashed into him.

As a result of the crash impact, the rider fell off his mountain bicycle.

The cyclist suffered cuts on his face and fractured his leg.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
