Barstow, CA – A pedestrian was killed in a collision that took place in Barstow on Saturday evening, according to the Barstow Police Department.
At about 8:35 p.m. April 4, authorities responded to reports of a crash in the 1100 block of E. Main Street.
Upon arrival, authorities located a man with severe injuries down in the roadway. The victim had reportedly been hit by two eastbound vehicles as he was attempting to cross the street outside of the crosswalk.
Barstow police performed CPR on the victim before paramedics arrived and took over.
Despite life-saving efforts, the victim was declared deceased at the scene. He was identified as James Cheesebrew, 60, of Barstow.
Both drivers reportedly stayed at the scene after the accident. There were no reports of any arrests in connection with the incident and impairment was not suspected for either driver.
The Barstow Police Department Detective Division is handling an ongoing investigation into the deadly collision.
