Bakersfield, CA – Several people, including a child, were injured in a DUI accident that happened Sunday evening near an intersection in Bakersfield.

Police officers said the crash happened when a Jeep and Hyundai sedan were traveling westbound on East Belle Terrace, and the driver of the Hyundai attempted to pass other vehicles by entering the eastbound lane.
The Hyundai hit the Jeep during that movement.
The Hyundai was being driven by a woman and had two children and a male passenger on board.
The child sustained a broken leg. The other passengers were not hurt.
The occupants of the Jeep suffered minor injuries.
The woman was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
Police officers are investigating speed as another possible factor.
