Bakersfield, CA – A bicyclist who died after being struck by a vehicle last week on Wednesday in Bakersfield has been identified by the Kern County Coroner’s Office.

Moises Alvarez Robles, 83, died following the collision that took place in the 300 block of Chester Avenue at around 1:14 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15.

Authorities reported that Robles was hit by a vehicle while riding a bike in the area. The circumstances under which the incident occurred were not immediately released.

According to Bakersfield Police Department, Robles was transported to Kern Medical, where he was pronounced deceased two days later.

Authorities have not confirmed whether alcohol or drugs played any role in the incident. No details on the involved driver were immediately released.

The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating to establish the cause of the accident and more details are expected to be released.
