, AZ. – A woman was injured in a multi-vehicle collision that happened near Mesa on Tuesday morning.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the accident happened on U.S. 60 near Val Drive in Mesa.

A 42-year-old Arizona City man was driving a cement truck when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the rear of a vehicle driven by Aymee Ruiz.

The collision caused the pickup truck to catch fire. A total of seven vehicles were involved in the pileup.

Ruiz was pulled out of the vehicle and was taken to the hospital.

Three other people were taken to hospital with unknown injuries.

The cement truck driver was cited for failing to maintain control of his vehicle.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
