Auburn, WA – A motorcyclist who was killed Monday afternoon after colliding with a Porsche on southbound State Route 167 in Auburn has been identified, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The victim was identified as 24-year-old Zachary Ty Johnston.
The crash happened September 28 at approximately 12:45 p.m. on SR-167, just north of State Route 18.
State Patrol said the motorcycle and a 2025 Porsche 911 were traveling at high speeds before the collision. Investigators said the two vehicles may have been racing before the Porsche changed lanes and struck the motorcycle. Johnston was ejected from the bike after the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Porsche driver was arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide under the reckless-driving provision, according to a Washington State Patrol release issued October 1.
The police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage from the area to contact investigators.
The incident remains under investigation.
