Ashley Hipol Hurt in Fortuna Accident on Highway 101

Fortuna, California (September 19, 2023) – Ashley Hipol, 29, of Fortuna, was injured in a pedestrian accident that took place north of Fortuna last week on Tuesday, according to the authorities.

The crash took place on US-101 Southbound at about 5:57 a.m. September 12.

Authorities said Hipol was walking or lying partially on US 101 when a southbound vehicle struck his left leg.

Hipol was taken to a hospital with major injuries.

The involved driver didn’t stop at the scene after the accident.

The Humboldt Area CHP is investigating the incident.
