Antioch, CA – Authorities are investigating an accident that claimed the life of a motorcycle rider in Antioch on Thursday.

According to the Antioch Police Department, the deadly incident occurred on James Donlon Boulevard at Tabora Drive on Thursday, April 9.

Investigations reveal that the motorcyclist was heading east on James Donlon Boulevard when he collided with a vehicle that had been traveling northbound on Tabora Drive.

Antioch police and emergency personnel responded to the site of the collision and upon arrival, they located a severely injured man.

The motorcyclist was rushed to an area hospital, where he was later declared deceased. He was only identified as a 54-year-old man.

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital after sustaining minor injuries in the incident.

According to APD, there was no reason to believe alcohol or drugs played any role in the incident.

The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation by the Antioch Police Department.
