Alex Gomez Killed, James Semrau Injured in Portland Motorcycle Crash on Highway 101 near Milepost 155
Portland, Oregon (September 8, 2023) – 27-year-old Alex Gomez was killed in a motorcycle accident on Thursday afternoon in Portland, Lincoln County.
According to the Oregon State Police, the accident happened at around 2:15 p.m. on Highway 101 near milepost 155.
James Semrau, 62, was driving a Dodge Ram 1500 and was making a left turn onto Highway 101 from North Bayview Road.
The Dodge then crossed into the northbound lane and collided with a Kawasaki EX motorcycle going through the intersection.
The Dodge caught fire after the crash, but officers responded and extinguished the fire.
Gomez was riding the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Semrau suffered minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
