Authorities said Avalos died when his vehicle was sideswiped by a sedan on the night of November 14, 2025, at 500 E Speedway Boulevard, near Main Avenue.

Tucson, AZ – One person was killed and four others, including a suspected DUI driver, were killed after a car sideswiped another on Speedway Boulevard in Tucson on Friday night.
The deceased driver has been identified as 35-year-old Adrian Avalos.
Authorities said Avalos died when his vehicle was sideswiped by a sedan on the night of November 14, 2025, at 500 E Speedway Boulevard, near Main Avenue.
Investigators said Avalos's vehicle broke down in the eastbound lanes of Speedway Boulevard and was moved into the curb lane. A good Samaritan and two other people known to Avalos helped him push the vehicle down the curb lane, with Avalos at the driver's door.
Authorities said a sedan, operated by a 72-year-old driver, was speeding in the median lane of Speedway when it drifted into the curb lane and struck Avalos and sideswiped his vehicle, which in turn struck the other three people pushing it.
Avalos died in the crash. The other three men suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
The second driver was hospitalized with minor injuries. Police said the 72-year-old river was impaired at the time of the collision.
The crash remains under investigation.
