Phoenix, AZ – The Phoenix Police Department has identified a pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run crash at an intersection in Phoenix late February as 36-year-old Aaron Hornedo.

The accident happened near the intersection of 35th Avenue and Peoria Avenue, on February 27.

Hornedo was crossing the street in the area of a marked crosswalk when a car driven by Deena Kneece, 19, crashed into him.

Kneece fled the scene after the incident.

Hornedo was declared dead at the scene.

Kneece was subsequently arrested and charged with one count of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.

No further details regarding the mishap were provided.

The incident is under investigation.
