Dog Attack Claims Life of 86-Year-Old Man in Norwalk

, CA. – 86-year-old Woon Lee died Sunday morning after being mauled by two Rottweilers while on a walk in a Norwalk neighborhood, the Medical Examiner's Office reported.

The attack happened at about 6:45 a.m. Saturday, August 6, near 166th Street and Graystone Avenue.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Lee was walking in the area when two unleashed Rottweilers attacked him, causing severe bleeding from an artery in his left arm.

Two passersby intervened by fighting off the dogs and attempting to render aid to the elderly man before first responders arrived.

The County Fire Department responded and transported Lee to the hospital.

The victim died Sunday morning while receiving treatment at the facility. He died from excessive bleeding from the puncture wounds.

The dogs' owner cooperated with the sheriff's deputies. He told them that the dogs got out and he was looking for them.

The owner took the dogs home after the incident, but the animals were likely to be taken by Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control and get quarantined.

The incident is under investigation by the sheriff's department.
