5 Injured in Bakersfield Crash on Copus Road near Interstate 5

Bakersfield, CA. – Several people were hospitalized following a head-on collision that happened on Wednesday morning.

The accident happened at around 5:25 a.m. on Copus Road, west of Interstate 5, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A 52-year-old Bakersfield woman was driving a Chevrolet Silverado westbound on Copus Road and was trying to pass another car when she collided head-on with an oncoming Toyota Camry.

The woman and all four occupants of the Camry were injured in the accident and were transported to Kern Medical for treatment.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
