4 Injured in Ventura County Crash on SR 126 near Pyle Road

Ventura County, California (July 25, 2023) – Two people were hospitalized after a suspected DUI crash on Monday afternoon in Fillmore.

The California Highway Patrol says the accident happened around 2 p.m. on Highway 126 near Pyle Road.

A 60-year-old Ojai man was driving a 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck eastbound when he drifted into the opposite lanes and collided head-on with a 2006 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by a 43-year-old Lancaster man.

A third vehicle, a Dodge ProMaster cargo van, had been traveling westbound and was hit by debris from the initial crash.

A 49-year-old Lancaster woman in the passenger seat of the Chevy truck was trapped and had to be extricated by Ventura County firefighters.

Both Lancaster residents had major injuries and were transported to Ventura County Medical Center.

The driver of the Dodge Ram suffered minor injuries. He was later arrested on suspicion of DUI.

The driver of the cargo van was unhurt, but his passenger suffered minor injuries.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
