Mikkel Schwiesow Among 2 Injured in Sonora Collision on Highway 108 Bypass near Peaceful Oak Road

Sonora, California (March 1, 2022) – 37-year-old Mikkel Schwiesow of Sonora was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Friday evening in East Sonora, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The wreck took place at around 5:15 p.m. February 25, on Highway 108 Bypass near Peaceful Oak Road.

CHP said Schwiesow was driving a 2012 Ford Explorer eastbound on the highway when he drifted to the south shoulder of the highway, then overcorrected and collided head-on with an oncoming Affordable Tow Truck pulling a vehicle.

Schwiesow sustained a bloody nose and pain to his chest. He was taken to Adventist Health Sonora for treatment.

The other driver, 29-year-old Zachary Bacis, had pain to his left arm and was treated at the scene by the medics.

Alcohol or drugs were not suspected in the accident.

The CHP is investigating the collision.
