Three Hurt in Santa Maria Crash on Mahoney Road
Santa Maria, California (June 2, 2023) – Three people were injured in a vehicle collision on Thursday afternoon just west of Santa Maria, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place at around 1 p.m. on June 1, in the 2600 block of Mahoney Road, near Black Road.
CHP said two vehicles collided head-on.
A third vehicle was also involved and it overturned off the roadway.
A woman in one of the vehicles that collided head-on was airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with major injuries.
Another woman in the same vehicle was transported by ambulance to Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria with minor injuries.
The male driver of the second vehicle involved in the head-on crash was taken to Marian with major injuries.
The woman driving the third vehicle was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
Firefighters responded to the scene and extricated the parties involved in the collision
The CHP is working to determine the cause of the incident.
