Two Pedestrians Hurt After Being Hit by Car in San Jose

San Jose, CA. – Two transit union members were hospitalized after being hit by a vehicle Monday morning during a picketing parade in San Jose.

According to San Jose police, the incident happened just after 9 a.m. in the 3900 block of Zanker Road.

A picket from Amalgamated Transit Union Local 265 was in the area on their first day of the union strike after failed contract negotiations with Valley Transit Authority.

Two of the picketers were hit by a white pickup truck under unclear circumstances.

One of the victims sustained lacerations on his arm and legs and was unable to put any weight on his leg.

The second person's neck started to swell after the accident, and also suffered lacerations.

The victims were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police said the driver of the vehicle stopped and remained at the scene.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
