A man was driving a Dodge Charger at a high rate of speed on Temperance Avenue when he crashed into the back of a Toyota Camry
Fresno, CA. – Two people died in a suspected DUI crash on Saturday night in Fresno.
The fatal collision happened around 9:40 p.m. on Temperance Avenue at Belmont Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Luis Felix, 18, of Fresno, was driving a Dodge Charger at a high rate of speed on Temperance Avenue when he crashed into the back of a Toyota Camry that was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection.
The impact of the collision caused the Dodge to crash into a Chevy Tahoe driving on Temperance.
Two 19-year-old men riding in the Dodge were pronounced dead at the accident scene.
A 20-year-old man riding in the Dodge suffered minor injuries.
Felix was taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment of major injuries. He was later arrested on suspicion of DUI.
An off-duty Fresno County sheriff's deputy driving the Tahoe and a woman in the passenger seat were hospitalized with moderate injuries. Three children in the vehicle, ages 9, 4, and 1, sustained minor injuries.
Police say the driver of the Toyota sustained minor injuries.
