Newhall, CA.- Two people were hurt in a traffic collision near Newhall on Sunday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported at about 8:10 a.m. on Interstate 5, just north of State Route 14.
A white SUV pulling a trailer carrying Jet Skis was traveling on the interstate when it pulled over in the gore point of northbound I-5.
The driver stepped out to check on the trailer and as the driver stood outside, a northbound Mazda also swerved into the gore point and slammed into the SUV and trailer.
The trailer rolled over and the driver of the SUV became stuck beneath it.
The driver was rushed to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in Valencia with moderate injuries.
The driver of the Mazda was treated for minor injuries.
Two passengers were sitting in the SUV but were not hurt in the crash.
DUI was not suspected to have played a role in the crash, CHP reported.
The investigation is ongoing.
