Sixteen people in the trolley and one person in the truck were injured in the collision
San Diego, CA. – Seventeen people were injured in a collision involving an MTS trolley at an intersection in Chula Vista.
According to the Chula Vista Fire Department, the accident happened around 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Industrial Boulevard and L Street.
A truck broadsided a northbound trolley at the L Street grade crossing.
According to the Chula Vista Police Department, sixteen people in the trolley and one person in the truck were injured in the collision.
Trolley service between H Street Trolley Station and the Iris Avenue Transit Center was temporarily suspended and shuttle buses were provided to serve impacted stations between Iris and H Street.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
