Police said a 14-year-old boy was riding an electric scooter when he was hit by an SUV

Kennewick, WA.- A teen was injured in a hit-and-run crash in Kennewick on Sunday evening, according to the Kennewick Police Department.
At about 5:10 p.m. November 23, authorities responded to reports of a pedestrian crash on West Sixth Avenue and South Taft Street.
Police said a 14-year-old boy was riding an electric scooter when he was hit by an SUV.
The rider was taken to a hospital with a broken ankle.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene before authorities arrived.
The suspect was driving a vehicle believed to be a black mid-size SUV that was last seen traveling southbound on Taft Street.
The search for the hit-and-run motorist is ongoing.
