Antioch, CA.- A teenage bicyclist was hit and injured by a vehicle in Antioch on Monday evening.
According to a report by the Antioch Police Department, the crash was reported at around 6:46 p.m. August 4, in the area of Lone Tree Way and Muirwood Drive.
Police reported that a 24-year-old man was driving a Nissan Pathfinder west on Lone Tree Way when he struck a 13-year-old bicyclist at the intersection.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene and administered aid to the boy, who was unresponsive.
The boy was then transferred to a hospital with critical injuries.
The driver of the Nissan was at the scene when the authorities arrived.
The driver did not show signs of impairment at the scene, according to police.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
