Tempe, AZ – A 13-year-old boy was seriously injured in a bicycle accident near McClintock Drive in Tempe Saturday morning.
According to the Tempe police the crash happened near McClintock and Watson Drives, just north of Guadalupe Road, around 11 a.m.
The police said an elderly man was driving on McClintock Drive when he ran the red light at Watson Drive and hit the boy who was crossing in the crosswalk.
The teen was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the car stayed at the scene and cooperated with the officers.
The McClintock was closed from Southshore Drive to Julie Drive, between Baseline and Guadalupe Roads during the on-site investigation.
No additional information about the collision was available.
