Mattawa, Wash. – Nearly 13 children were injured in a collision involving a school bus in Mattawa on Monday, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO).
The collision took place at Road O and Road 27 on Monday, 22.
According to the report, a pickup truck was traveling west on Road 27 when it failed to yield and t-boned a Wahluke school bus.
The impact caused the bus to roll over and it slid down the street.
Nearly 13 children were transported to hospitals witt non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the pickup was seriously hurt.
According to the report, fog is suspected to have played a role in the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
