1 Person Hospitalized After Rodeo Car Accident near Refinery Road and San Pablo Avenue
Contra Costa, California (February 28, 2023) – One person was hospitalized after a two-vehicle collision that took place Monday afternoon near an intersection in Rodeo, Contra Costa County.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place at about 4:51 p.m. near Refinery Road and San Pablo Avenue.
A Ford 250 pickup truck and a Kia Forte were involved in the accident.
Firefighters responded to the scene and found one person trapped in the wreckage.
The firefighters freed the victim and requested an air ambulance to respond and airlift the victim to the hospital. However, the helicopter was cancelled, and the patient taken to John Muir Health Walnut Creek Medical Center via ground ambulance with unspecified injuries.
A signal pole was also destroyed in the crash and needed repair.
Police are investigating the cause of the collision.
