1 Trapped After Car Hits Semi-Truck on 10 Freeway in San Bernardino County

San Bernardino County, Calif. – One person was hospitalized after a sedan crashed into a semi-truck Saturday morning near Redlands in San Bernardino County.

The California Highway Patrol said the collision was reported around 5:48 a.m. on the eastbound 10 Freeway near Ford Street.

Reportedly, a big rig was pulled over on the right-hand shoulder when a sedan crashed into the semi-truck under unclear circumstances.

The sedan got wedged underneath the big rig’s trailer, and the driver was trapped inside.

Emergency personnel responded and closed the Nos. 4 and 5 lanes to allow a rotator tow truck to lift the trailer off the car for the driver to be freed.

The driver was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center with unspecified injuries.

Authorities are investigating the accident.
