Winchester, CA.- One person was seriously injured in a big rig accident in Winchester on Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The two-vehicle accident occurred on Winchester Road and Olive Avenue, just before 11 a.m. October 20.
According to the report, a van and a semi collided head-on near the intersection.
The circumstances under which the crash happened were not immediately established.
The driver of the van had to be pulled out of the vehicle by the Riverside County Fire Department crews.
The van driver was transported by ambulance to a trauma center with critical injuries.
The other driver was not hurt.
The intersection was shut down as authorities examined and cleared the scene.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
