1 Killed in San Luis Obispo Crash on Highway 101 at Hawk Hill Road

Both drivers were transported to Sierra Vista Hospital with serious injuries

San Luis Obispo, CA. – One person was killed in a multi-vehicle collision that left two other people injured in San Luis Obispo on Wednesday night.

The fatal collision happened on Highway 101 on the Cuesta Grade at Hawk Hill Road at around 11:15 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

A white GMC Canyon truck was traveling the wrong way in the southbound lanes when it collided head-on with a black Dodge Charger.

Three other vehicles crashed into both the GMC and the Dodge.

The right front passenger in the Dodge, identified only as a 55-year-old Grover Beach man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both drivers were transported to Sierra Vista Hospital with serious injuries.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
