Pedestrian struck, killed by car on Abbott Street near Harris Road in Salinas
Salinas, CA. – A pedestrian died after being struck by an ambulance on Tuesday morning in Salinas.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 3:29 a.m. on Abbott Street near Harris Road.
A Ford Transit ambulance owned by American Medical Response operated by a 33-year-old driver from Templeton was going southbound on Abbott Street when it struck a female pedestrian.
The pedestrian died at the accident scene, according to the Monterey County Coroner's Office.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
