Huntington Beach, Calif. – A 49-year-old man died in a pedestrian crash on Slater Avenue in Huntington Beach Friday evening.

According to the Huntington Beach Police Department, the wreck happened at around 7 p.m. on January 26 on Slater Avenue near Keelson Lane.

Preliminary investigation indicated that the man was walking on the crosswalk when he was hit by a vehicle operated by a 22-year-old man.

The man was pronounced dead at the crash site.

The driver was not injured and stayed at the scene and cooperated with the officers.

Drugs and alcohol were not believed to have caused the accident.

The name of the deceased was not immediately established.

The cause of the mishap remains under investigation.
