San Diego, CA. – A motorcyclist died after colliding with a car near Lakeside in San Diego on Tuesday night.
The fatal collision happened at around 8:05 p.m. on Winter Gardens Boulevard, north of Lemon Crest Drive, the California Highway Patrol reported.
A man was riding a 2005 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R southbound on the roadway when he crashed a 2013 Ford F-150 that pulled into the roadway from a public driveway.
Both vehicles caught fire after the collision.
The rider was transported to UCSD Medical Center where he died while receiving treatment.
The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office did not disclose the identity of the man pending notification of the next of kin.
The driver and passenger of the Ford were not injured.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
