Long Beach, CA. – One person died in a traffic collision that happened Friday morning on a freeway in Long Beach, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The wreck occurred around 7:20 a.m. on the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway at the Long Beach (710) Freeway.

Two vehicles were involved in the accident.

Long Beach firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and provided life-saving measures to one person, but the victim died at the scene.

No details were available about whether there was any other person who sustained injuries.

A SigAlert was issued at 7:56 a.m., closing the HOV lane and the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes.
