1 Killed in Fresno County Car Accident at Shields and Academy Avenues
Fresno County, California (June 7, 2023) – One person was killed in a fiery crash involving a semi-truck at an intersection in Sanger on Wednesday morning.
At around 10:30 a.m., the California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a traffic collision at Shields and Academy avenues.
A Ford Ranger was traveling westbound on Shields Avenue when it allegedly failed to stop at the stop sign and crashed into a semi-truck traveling northbound on Academy Avenue.
The Ford Ranger caught fire after the collision while the big rig continued about 200 feet before it overturned and caught fire.
The driver of the Ford Ranger died at the scene.
The driver of the big rig did not sustain serious injuries.
More details about the crash were not immediately provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
