Irvine, CA.- One person was killed in a car accident Irvine on Sunday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred on the San Diego (405) Freeway, just north of Laguna Canyon Road at about 11:33 p.m. October 5.

According to the CHP, a vehicle traveling on the southbound side of the freeway crashed into a sign and the right shoulder wall.

The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The identity of the driver was not immediately released.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
