San Diego, CA. – A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a car on Thursday morning in the Teralta West neighborhood.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the accident happened in the 4100 block of University Avenue at around 7:47 a.m.

The elderly man was walking north in a crosswalk when he was hit by a 2019 Toyota Tacoma operated by a 29-year-old man.

The pedestrian suffered serious injuries including a brain bleed and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
