San Diego, California (July 26, 2026) – A bicyclist was seriously injured after being hit by a car in the Gaslamp Quarter neighborhood of San Diego on Tuesday morning.

The San Diego Police Department says the accident happened on 400 Market Street at around 11:13 a.m.

A 56-year-old woman riding an electric bike and was struck by a silver 2006 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 58-year-old man.

The woman suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Silverado stayed at the accident scene and cooperated with the authorities.
