1 Hurt in Oakland Car Accident on 580 Freeway and Edwards Avenue
Oakland, California (August 18, 2022) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a car accident that left at least one person with minor injuries on Wednesday night in Oakland.
The accident happened at around 9:44 p.m. Thursday, August 17, on westbound 580 Freeway, just east of Edwards Avenue.
According to a CHP report, four vehicles collided for unknown reasons.
Firefighters and medical personnel arrived at the scene and attended to at least one person injured in the collision. The total number of victims and their current condition were not immediately known.
The vehicles were blocking the lanes following the accident.
Tow trucks were requested to remove the cars from the scene, and the roadway reopened as of 11:08 p.m.
Further details concerning this incident are yet to be released.
The car accident remains under investigation.
