According to the CHP, a Volkswagen crashed into the rear of a semi-truck for unknown reasons

Grass Valley, CA.- One person was injured in a collision involving a big rig near Grass Valley on Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck happened on Highway 20 at around 8 a.m. on November 21.
According to the CHP, a Volkswagen crashed into the rear of a semi-truck for unknown reasons.
Shortly after, other drivers crashed at they tried to avoid the vehicles at the scene of the earlier accident.
Firefighters extricated the driver of the Volkswagen after being trapped in the wreckage.
The driver was flown to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
There were no major injuries in the subsequent crashes.
Lanes were shut down in the area as authorities investigated the incident.
The CHP is handling the investigation.
