1 Injured After Lose Tire from Big Rig Hits Car on I-15 near Bonsall

Bonsall, California (August 15, 2023) – One person was injured when a big rig tire detached and hit another vehicle Monday morning on Interstate 15 near Bonsall.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at around 10:36 a.m. in the northbound lanes south of Old Highway 395.

CHP said a wheel detached from a big rig in the southbound lanes and traveled to the southbound lanes, where it hit a red Volkswagen Rabbit.

The driver of the Volkswagen suffered injuries in the face and arm caused by broken glass. First responders found glass stuck in his face and arm.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital.

Officers are investigating the incident.
