Tacoma, Washington (September 3, 2023) – One person was airlifted after being injured in a collision involving a wrong-way driver on Sunday morning near Olympia.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident happened on the Interstate 5 Freeway near US Highway 101 off-ramp at around 3:20 a.m.

A vehicle was traveling the wrong way on the freeway and collided head-on with a big rig.

The wrong-way driver suffered major injuries and was airlifted to the hospital for treatment. He was also arrested on suspicion of DUI.
