Tomas Medel Killed in Sherman Oaks Crash on 405 Freeway near 101 Freeway

Two other people were taken to a local hospital in unknown condition.

Sherman Oaks, CA. – Authorities have identified the 60-year-old man who died in a multi-vehicle collision in Sherman Oaks early Sunday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal collision happened around 1:45 a.m. on the northbound side of the 405 near the Ventura (101) Freeway interchange.

Multiple vehicles collided on the freeway in unclear circumstances. One vehicle rolled over after the collision.

Tomas Venancio Medel was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.

Two other people were taken to a local hospital in unknown condition.

Additional information about the accident was not released.

CHP is investigating the accident.
