Solano County, CA – The authorities have released the identity of the man who was killed in a traffic collision involving four vehicles on Interstate 80 near Vacaville on Saturday.
The Solano County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Gregory Tobias, a 29-year-old Vacaville resident.
Two other people, a 29-year-old man and a woman, were hospitalized following the incident. The man was in critical condition, and the woman had serious injuries.

Solano County, CA – A man died, and another man and a woman were seriously hurt in a pileup that happened early Saturday morning on Interstate 80 near Vacaville, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The accident took place around 2:36 a.m. on October 31, 2026, on eastbound I-80 near Lagoon Valley Road.
According to CHP logs, a blue Hyundai Tucson overturned for an unknown reason and blocked the eastbound lanes. Three other vehicles then struck the car: a blue BMW driven by a 20-year-old man, a white Kia sedan driven by a 60-year-old woman, and a gray Buick SUV driven by a 40-year-old man.
29-year-old man driving the Hyundai died at the scene. His 29-year-old passenger was hospitalized in critical condition.
The woman driving the Kia was also hospitalized with major injuries.
