San Marcos, CA – A motorcyclist was killed in a collision involving a motorcycle and another vehicle on eastbound State Route 78 near Barham in San Marcos, according to California Highway Patrol incident logs.

Initial reports indicated that the motorcycle struck the rear of a vehicle, and the rider was found on the right side of the roadway.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the victim has not been released.
The incident prompted temporary traffic restrictions as crews responded and investigators worked at the scene. Some lanes were later reopened, and all lanes were reported open by approximately 8:26 p.m.
