Manhattan Beach, CA – One person was killed and several others suffered critical or serious injuries in a multi-vehicle collision on Manhattan Beach Boulevard Friday night, according to the Manhattan Beach Police Department.

The crash happened at about 10:12 p.m. on October at Manhattan Beach Boulevard and Aviation Boulevard.

Authorities said the vehicles involved were a Tesla SUV, a Toyota Corolla, a pickup truck and an on-duty Manhattan Beach police SUV. The impact scattered debris across the roadway and led to the boulevard being shut down.

According to the police, a vehicle operated by 35-year-old Antolin Titus of Whittier struck one vehicle, and the impact caused both vehicles to hit the police SUV and the fourth vehicle.

A passenger in one of the vehicles struck by Titus, suffered fatal injuries and died in the incident. The medical examiner’s office identified the deceased as Danielle Antich, a 24-year-old resident of Hermosa Beach.

Other people were hospitalized with serious injuries. The patients, including a police officer who sustained non-life-threatening injuries and Titus, were hospitalized.

Investigators determined Titus was driving under the influence when the collision occurred. He was taken into custody on October 12 after being released from the hospital.

Titus was booked on suspicion of murder, DUI causing bodily injury, hit-and-run causing death or serious injury, reckless driving, possession of nitrous oxide, and driving without a license.

The collision remains under investigation.
