Wilmington, CA. – A 37-year-old woman who died after being struck by a vehicle last month in Wilmington has been identified.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the pedestrian accident occurred at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Alameda Street at around 2:10 a.m. on September 30.

Raquel Hernandez Cruz was struck by a vehicle while walking her dog in the area.

The woman was rushed to the hospital, where she later died of blunt force injuries.

The dog was found lying in the roadway and animal control was informed of the injured dog.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
