Sebastopol, CA – Pedestrian Hit and Killed by Vehicle on Highway 116 Identified

According to the California Highway Patrol, John Mock, 74, of Sebastopol, ran into the roadway and was hit by a Mazda that was traveling eastbound on Highway 116.

Sebastopol, CA – The man who was hit and killed by a vehicle late last month in Sebastopol has been identified by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident took place just before 8:45 p.m. September 28, on Highway 116, east of Sparkes Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, John Mock, 74, of Sebastopol, ran into the roadway and was hit by a Mazda that was traveling eastbound on Highway 116.

Authorities responded to the scene and found Mock lying in the roadway. Mock was declared deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Mazda remained at the scene after the accident.

According to investigators, speed and impairment were not suspected to have played any role in the incident.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
