Ellensburg, WA – A 27-year-old Kennewick man was killed early Friday morning after he was struck by a semi-truck near Ellensburg, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The crash occurred around 3:36 a.m. on October 2, 2026, on Interstate 90 near milepost 109.

According to investigators, the pedestrian was in the median before he moved into the roadway and was hit by a semi-truck operated by a 36-year-old man from Umatilla, Oregon.

The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities withheld his name pending notification of his next of kin.

The truck driver was wearing a seat belt and was not injured in the collision, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The cause and circumstances of the crash remained under investigation.
