Oxnard, CA – A 64-year-old man died after he was struck by a vehicle early Monday morning at an intersection in Oxnard, the Oxnard Police Department reported.
The incident transpired around 2:03 a.m. on September 28, 2026, on Victoria Avenue at Gum Tree Street.
Oxnard police officers and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene, about three hundred feet south of Santa Clara River Bridge, and found a 64-year-old Oxnard man lying in the southbound traffic lanes.
The man was suffering from severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators determined that the victim was crossing the southbound traffic lanes when he was hit by a Jeep traveling southbound on Victoria Avenue.
The driver stopped and remained at the scene.
According to police, just about a minute before the crash, Oxnard Police Dispatch received a call about a person in the roadway near the same location. Investigators believe the call was related to the accident.
