Portland, OR – A man riding a modified motorized two-wheel scooter suffered life-threatening injuries after a collision in Southeast Portland on Monday afternoon, according to the Portland Police Bureau.
The crash occurred at approximately 4:27 p.m. on Sept. 21 in the 4300 block of Southeast 136th Avenue in the Powellhurst-Gilbert neighborhood.
Police said the collision involved a TriMet Lift bus and an adult male operating a modified motorized two-wheel scooter. Officers and Portland Fire & Rescue arrived to find the rider critically injured.
The scooter rider was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The TriMet bus driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
Southeast 136th Avenue was closed in both directions between Southeast Center Street and Southeast Cora Street while investigators processed the scene.
Portland Police Bureau is investigating the injury crash.
